In conclusion.

Long story short, I love this thing.  The Xbox180 plays Xbox games, music, movies, dvds, videos, Divx, you name it.  It's fantastic for parties.  Thanks to emulators it also plays old Atari2600 games and classic arcade hits we all grew up on.

The new Xbox360 is really cool and I would love to have one to hack on.   The problem is there is really no Jukebox/media center features available for it yet so it sits on peoples shelf as a gaming console.  I really need more out of my money, and the value isn't there yet for the 360 in my eyes.

My Xbox180 probably costs just as much, if not more then a brand spanking new top end Xbox360, but it can't do half the things mine can do.  That, is where the value lies to me.

THanks for reading.  Let me know your thoughts below.

  That looks pretty sweet.
would an xbox that doesn't work right ( power light flashes amber/green on startup) be a good candidate for something like this, or should I just dump it?

Looks GREAT! i mod also, i have a 1.6 xbox with an xecuter mod chip and the control panel and everything. Yes, it is hard to cram in all the "Bling" lol i painted the "X" on the top red and down the sides while keeping the side grills black. working on a cut out DVD window with pulsing leds so i can pulse them to music. Nice job keeping the back stock looking!

I wouldn't start a Xbox project of this size with a dead Xbox Kyle, but I wouldn't give up the ghost. It sounds like a good box to tinker with and figure out why its broke.

Matt, its not for sale. thanks though.

I am a pile of useless information.

It
s been a year since I purchased it so I do not recall. All the info onn what LCD to use I got from xbox-scene so I would go there if you really are desperate for one.

As with any highly modified item, there are minor annoyances and intricacies. I do not want to pawn those details off on you.

besides, it's no PS3.

Now of course if you send a money order with postage paid, I may think about it. :p

Since the Xboxes are so cheap, you should mod them and sell them. Bet you could make some cash. Heck, if i had enough cash, id buy one like that. Especially since when it comes to computers, i have no idea whats going on.
