Back in 1992 I was big into street bmx riding. Me and some of my friends rode most everyday. I was also getting interested in videos and wanted to do something with all the footage I shot. The problem was me and my friends all sucked. It's hard to make a interesting bike video when the people you are shooting, incuding myself, stink at it.
Well my first attempt at it was this video. I dubbed it together with two four head VCRs connected together. I was using pretty high tech stuff for the time, but the results are less then stellar. I ended up forgetting about it and stored it.
I found this old video recently and decided it was time to remaster it.

I wanted to keep the old school edits in place and not really change much about this video. It was a bit long and timed in at 30 minutes. That is too long for most peoples attention span and it didnt help the content was weak, but I did what I could with what I had. I shortened the video down just a bit and took out some excessive driving footage. The rest of it is 100% origional vcr-vcr edits.
The sounds where all intact, but it really needed some music to bring it up to todays standards. I did'nt want to take the easy route and slap some music in it and upload it to YouTube so I spent a little more time editing for sound. Most of the music is stuff we listened to back then.
Titles and credits at the beginning and end I added here in 2007, but in the middle there are some titles that I somehow managed to make with the vcr. I can't recall how I did it, but I still like the cheesy effect.
May I point out one more time, the video was edited on two vcr's in the 90's. This was before I understood what a viewers attention span was. Yeah, it's long, but take that time to appreciate my mastery of 90's techology. :)
Anyhow, here is the video. YouTube will not allow videos longer then ten minutes so this one is hosted on Google.
