It was about time I got a new cell phone. I have been using my work phone for the past few years for mobile communication. I started to get jealous of all those people doing interesting things with their phones like watching videos, poking away at a Instant Message, or causing traffic accidents. I wanted to be park of the group damnit.
Melissa had to renew her contract, and Verizon made it easy for us to get roped into another long ass contract by offering us the friends and family plan with a good deal on the new Motorola Razr phones.
I immediatly hacked the hell out of my phone to enable all the hidden features. Verizon is a big fan of dumbing down the phones, and charging for features we all want. I was able to turn al those features back on without using Verizon as the middle man.
Ever wanted to take a picture of your sweety with your phone, and then smack it on your desktop or email it to your mum? Well verizon charges you to move the pic via email or its "mobile media somedumbcatchphrase garbage" technology. Seems like its worth it if its simple right?
No.
What is simpler then Bluetooth? Get your phone close to a bluetooth usb stick or another bluetooth enabled device and move the pics between devices. Its really quite simple. Verizon makes no money off this "simplicity" therefore they have disbaled this feature.
Whatever.
I may possibly write an article on my adventures into cell phone hacking. Email me or leave a message if you want more.
