As if setting up a brand new computer, operating system, and various network tweaks wasn't enough, I decided the basic BitTorrent computer box I built wasn't robust enough for me.  I really wanted multiple users and a better interface.  I wanted a total replacement for Azureus and uTorrent clients on the individual computers.  I wanted something central everybody could use and contribute to. 

Unfortunatly this meant I had to install Ubuntu server and I was going to be doing far more terminal typing then GUI clicking.

I was not happy with Azureus and it's performance and odd quirks on my new install of Ubunty Fiesty.  I was able to make everything functional, but it felt like a hack instead of a solid tool.  My girlfriend didn't seem to embrace the new interface and I wasn't feeling too good about it myself.

I found TorrentFlux while I was looking for a solution to my needs.  TorrentFlux is a full features Torrent client, but it was entirely web-based.  It used PHP and MySql and required a web server.  This was much closer to what I wanted and it had a much better interface to interact with. 

Of course now I had to scrap everything I already setup on Ubuntu and then install the server edition instead.  

I had to start over from scratch totally.

Yeah, I was not too thrilled, but for the greater good I pushed on.

Ubuntu Server edition went smoothly.  The setup is different and more like setting up older Linux distros.  It is definitly different from the LiveCD install the Desktop Edition does.   When you are setting up make sure you elect to install LAMP or you will be kicking yourself.
